The goal of the Keep Well Antigonish Exercise and Wellness Program is to keep older people healthy, fit, and engaged in community. The target population is older adults (55+ years) in Antigonish town and county. We run three Exercise and Wellness sessions per year (Fall: September-December; Winter: January-March; Spring: April-June).
The Keep Well Antigonish Exercise and Wellness Program offers three options of exercise classes: general fitness, Nia, and chair-yoga. We offer both in-person and interactive online exercise classes. Seniors with varying mobility and health conditions can participate and choose classes that are best suited to their needs.
Our wellness programming consists of newsletters on health-related topics, presentations by individuals or organizations on topics concerning seniors’ health, safety, and well-being, and notices of events, activities, and programs in the community that may be of interest to seniors.
In collaboration with the Antigonish Regional Library, we offer a monthly speaker series, the Community Café.
