DESCRIPTION OF CLASSES

Chair Yoga is a modified form of yoga that is practiced while sitting in a chair or standing using the chair for support. The instructor leads participants through yoga poses, stretches and breathing exercises. Online participants should have an armless sturdy chair and room to move comfortably when seated or standing.

General Fitness exercises focus on strength, balance, and flexibility.  The instructor leads participants through exercises that can be done with or without weights and that can be modified to suit the participant’s needs.  Online participants should have an armless sturdy chair. Small hand weights are optional (hand weights could include household items such as canned goods).

Nia is non-impact movement that has elements of dance, yoga, and Tai Chi. The instructor teaches and leads participants through movement exercises with music. Participants are encouraged to move their bodies in ways that are comfortable to them.
